Amazon.com is jsut like the STOCK MARKET

OK...I am not sure WHY but the Amazon.com Deals go up and down like the stock market (or lately housing market). Sometimes I buy a shoe for $20-$40 and the NEXT DAY its back up to $100. SO... I will post a product or two under my favorites... WATCH the price and buy it when its LOW. I put the Lelly Kelly boots I just got for the little gal on there...and of course they are showing up for $91 now when I bought at $37... SO..if you love a certain brand...check it often..OR wait for me to catch it...then Buy it while its HOT.

That's the key buy a little bit all the time...and always under $30-$40 and you will be ahead of the game...

SOUTH BAY SHOPPING

Hi....I called this shopping in LA because I travel outside of my South Bay Bubble as often as I can to find the deals...but more often than not there is no need! I have created this site for several reasons...but ONE BIGGY...most of the other sites on shopping in LA focus on LA proper...not the South Bay. I also noticed a lask of like minded deal searchers on websites that advertise that they will give you the "scoop" on the deals... A ton of the deals I find are for me...but I get equal JOY from finding designer duds for the tots and for the hubby too... so I will post those often... If you find hip deals in the South Bay (or LA) and would like to share, please post your finds under the Monthy log of my shopping finds.... I think there are a ton of sites out there...but if you and I have the same taste (M Frederick, Savvy, Fred Segal, Shop Bop, etc...) then join the blog so I do not feel that I am writing this for myself...and also we can share our secret finds!

How to FIND the deals in Marshalls, ROSS, and TJ MAXX

OK....

My friends tell me they HATE these stores...I am here to tell you why it is worth the several minutes to stop into these stores often and frequently...it is PAINLESS and you will find deals that will make any shopping addict feeling like they just won the Lotto!

#1 SKIP the reg. racks (unless you have an hour +) run in and look for those BIG RED CLEARANCE SIGNS. Stop, find you needed size (kids, hubby, you??) and look for the labels... once you start to know the brands you can quickly sift through the Liz Claiborne, Ralph Lauren, and Limited stuff and find your fashion FINDS...

Start small....look for premium denim.... look for brands like Joe's, Seven for All Man Kind (DO NOT BE so silly as to fall for those "SEVEN" jeans from some random mall store), Paper Denim and cloth, Juicy, Joie (I think I spelled that right?), etc... I think that the Seven for All Mankind jeans are still over priced for clearance,,,but keep looking...I just found the Juicy Linen Pants (I already scored) in there for $30... some of the brands are so high end that you may not even know them.... It seems that TJ MAXX and MARSHALLS get a TON of their jeans from Neiman Marcus. If you want to do your homework.... go on Neiman Marcus online site and print out the brand sheet.... tuck it in your purse....

OH...and DO NOT try this at ROSS in WOMENS' ...there is a TON of (sorry but ...) Crap int he womens' dept. lately... BUT, ROSS has a ton of surfer girls clothing...Billabong, Roxy, etc... Great place for tanks, sundresses, ts, and sweats! If your man wears those surfer boy brands check the mens' scene.... great finds there...AMZING deals!

THE BEST HEALTH DEAL.... pricey but best sunscreen in the nation

OK... I think that deals ARE important but "Every Cosmo Mom" knows that we MUST beware of all the crazy chemicals and products we are putting in and on our childrens' sacred bods...well I went on an internet search for the BEST sunscreen...one with the LEAST scary chemicals and the BEST coverage....well, this BADGER sunscreen is rated the BEST sunscreen in the nation by the Environmental Working Group (EWG). They are an independent "GREEN" non-profit that seems to be the most unbias opinion on the web. Most other "best sunscreen" studies and polls )if you look closely) have a Dr. or sponsor with funding from a MAJOR pharm. company with vested interest.....so I found WAY TOO MUCH info. But in the end I special ordered a case of this Badger sunscreen and my friends all paid me back...it smells amazing and feels food too... its active ingr. is Zinc (but its Micro. particles) so it goes on white (like the #2 CA Baby sunscreen) BUT it fades away.... its also waterproof...OH...and yes MICRO particles are scary too...BUT...from my (non medical research) it seems that ZINC is a metal found in our body (and vitamins) so even if it did get in the sunscreen...which the research shows it does not...it would not hurt you or your kids!

SO there!

Welcome to my first post how I spend under $200 a month on designer brands!

Shopping in LA...

First, a little bit about me... I LOVE designer brands they are amazing quality, wear WAY better over time, and face it you look much HOTTER in a pair of Joes Jeans then in a pair of Mossimo jeans for that big night out on the town! The reason I am starting this blog is to share my secret.....shhhhhhhh ...... the Joe's Jeans I bought were MUCH cheaper than the pair I saw at Target! So, I do LOVE target, but why would I buy jeans for $40 there when I can buy a pair of Joes Jeans for $30? The answer, for most of you with a strong sense of the pulse of fashion, is you KNOW you would buy the Joe's Jeans!

So.... I am going to FINALLY purge all my favorite tips for shopping in LA. If you are reading this and you are NOT in LA...no worries, you can also find some AMAZING deals online and also in chain stores (that I will mention FREQUENTLY) like Marshalls, TJ MAXX (my favorite), and even ROSS.

I am budgeted $200 a month for all my personal needs. No, not a kids, a wife who LOVES shopping but lives in a home with a big ol' mortgage and lots of kids and bills! Most months I spend about $100 on clothing and my closet is full of great trendy pieces, classic designer favorites, and fun finds!

My favorite brands are Joe's Jeans, Danang, C&C, La Rok (although own only a few pieces), all premium denims (Paper Denim and Cloth, Ed Hardy -I like the jeans not the shirts-, J Brand, TAG +, and the usuals True Religion and 7 for All Mankind and much more). For children I love Flowers by Zoe, (or is it for Zoe-I always forget) 2B Free, Splendid, Roxy, Quiksilver (all the surfer clothing), Umi shoes (and the other Euro shoes too Naturino etc.), a local favorite Whimsy Ranch, premium denim for kids, and more.....

YEP....I buy all this for under $200 a month! I have a rule, I never (EVER) spend over $40 for one piece of clothing. I have broken my rule only a few times and only by about $20 max.. Mostly, on average, I spend $30 or less on an item (and it is 80% of the time a designer brand).

Ok.... so now you get an idea of who I am and my passion/obsession....

I will post my finds as I purchase and hopefully you can share with me any great finds or tips too!!

Happy shopping!!
